Dr Ian Tan MBBS MMed is the educational principal for MedEssentials, having over a decade experience successfully training prospective students gain admission to increasingly competitive medicine & dentistry courses Australia-wide. He is passionate about sharing his UCAT, interview and career counselling strategies with aspiring students to follow a similarly prolific pathway in medicine.

Dr Tan is currently an advanced surgical trainee in ophthlamic surgery and is passionate about the treatment of blindness and vision impairment. In conjunction to clinical work and surgery, Dr Tan undertakes teaching for senior medical students at the University of Adelaide, where he has previously held the role as Adelaide Union Board President. Dr Tan’s research and publication experience is exception with over 22 publications in internationally recognised ophthalmology, machine learning and epidemiology journals. [Click to Researchgate].

Dr. Tan is the MedEssentials Educational Principal.

Dr Tan’s consultation fees are $340 - $440 per hour for individuals and $690 per hour for external educational organisations. Fees for schools are negotiable based on scope of teaching.
